The King's Speech (2010)

Emmy Award-winning director Tom Hooper (John Adams) teams with screenwriter David Seidler (Tucker: A Man and His Dreams) to tell the story of King George VI. When his older brother abdicates the throne, nervous-mannered successor George "Bertie" VI (Colin Firth) reluctantly dons the crown. Though his stutter soon raises concerns about his leadership skills, King George VI eventually comes into his own with the help of unconventional speech therapist Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush). Before long the king and Lionel have forged an unlikely bond, a bond that proves to have real strength when the United Kingdom is forced to flex its international might.

A birthday party for the twins gives Greg an opportunity to redeem himself after he takes a job that raises the suspicions of his overbearing father-in-law, Jack (Robert De Niro), in this installment of the hit comedy series.

Greg (Ben Stiller) and Pam (Teri Polo) have been together for ten years, and now they're the proud parents of two adorable twins.
But money is tight, and in order to keep his family afloat, devoted nurse Greg takes a second job working for a drug company.

But that development doesn't sit well with Jack, whose previous suspicions regarding his hapless son-in-law soon come back in full force after learning of this development.
With the twins' birthday fast approaching, the proud parents invite the entire clan over to celebrate in style, including Kevin (Owen Wilson), who still carries a torch for his pretty ex Pam.

As the festivities get under way, Greg takes every opportunity available to prove to Jack that he's fully capable of providing for his family.
Now Greg has one last chance to prove that he's trustworthy.
Should he fail, the circle of trust will be broken for good.

A determined pugilist whose career in the ring was shepherded by his loyal half-brother, Dicky -- a hard-living boxer-turned-trainer whose own career in the ring was nearly sent down for the count due to drugs and crime -- perennial underdog Irish Micky rebounded from a disheartening series of defeats to win both the WBU Intercontinental Lightweight title and the WBU Light Welterweight title thanks to a fierce combination of determination and hard work. 'Harry Potter' Vs. 'Twilight': Weighing In On The Debate

If you caught our "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" premiere live stream last week then you've already been introduced to the fact that I am a pretty huge "Harry Potter" fan. I've been reading these books since I was 11 years old and seen each film the weekend it's been released since "Sorcerer's Stone" first hit theaters.

That being said, I've also kept up to date on the "Twilight" franchise, though I didn't get into the books until after "Eclipse" was released. I thought "Breaking Dawn" was a pretty big letdown (so sue me, I thought Edward was going to reclaim his "soul" and return to his human form, allowing him and Bella to live happily ever after without her being changed to a vampire), and I haven't been in love with the movies. So while my "Twilight" knowledge ranks up there with the best of them, I wouldn't say I'm the series' biggest fan.

'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2': What Scene Should Open The Film?

Hopefully you were one of millions who saw "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1" at least once over the weekend because now that it's been open to the general public for three days, we're definitely ready to talk about "Part 2." For those of you who haven't seen "Part 1" yet, what are you doing reading this? Get your little patootie to your nearest theater for the next two and half hours and then come back and talk with us.

What Did You Think Of 'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows - Part 1'? [Poll]

When it comes to opening-weekend box-off magic, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1" is the unequivocal champ of the boy-wizard franchise. After snagging $24 from midnight screenings, the flick went on to rack up $61 million on Friday alone en route to a $125.1 million weekend, by far the largest opening frame for a "Potter" film to date (the previous mark was set by 2005's "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," which netted $102.7 million in its first three days) and the sixth biggest opening weekend for any movie ever.

'Harry Potter' Refresher: Inside 'Half-Blood Prince'

Each day this week we've been providing recaps of the previous "Harry Potter" movies -- consider them a kind of affectionate Cliff's Notes and a much-need refresher -- to prepare for today: the release (!!!) of "Deathly Hallows: Part 1." We've already covered "Sorcerer's Stone," "Chamber of Secrets," "Prisoner of Azkaban," "Goblet of Fire" and "Order of the Phoenix," so today we're focusing on the sixth film in the "Harry Potter" series, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."

The 'Harry Potter' Films' 10 Best Moments So Far: 'Sorcerer's Stone' Through 'Half-Blood Prince'

The end is upon us, Potterheads: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" is officially in theaters. I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about seeing it (again)! It's been almost 10 years since we joined our favorite boy wizard for his first trip on the Hogwarts Express, and Harry sure has faced some obstacles along the way. Six films later, we're almost at the end (sniff, lone tear forming in corner of eye, sniff). And so, in honor of this decade-long franchise, here is a list of the 10 most memorable moments from the "Harry Potter" films thus far, in chronological order and not including "Deathly Hallows: Part 1" and "Part 2."

Little Girl Blue

0 komentar

Swiss helmer Anna Luif's gently observant, teen-oriented romantic seriocomedy Little Girl Blue transpires in a middle-class community in Switzerland, where the first stirrings of romantic affection blossom between two idiosyncratic adolescents.

Muriel Newkom is 13-year-old Sandra, a newcomer in her suburb, whose parents' marriage is gradually beginning to wear thin.
She spends long afternoons on her bicycle, riding around the housing development, and it is on one of those treks that she happens upon the wallet of local boy Mike (Andreas Eberle) - a handsome classmate from her school.

No stranger to familial dysfunction himself, Mike struggles with an alienated and confused mother, Kathrin (Sabine Berg), still reeling from the unexpected death of her daughter.
Sandra and Mike instantly develop a strong rapport and begin to fall for one another, but Sandra faces romantic rivalry from the class prima donna, Nadja (Marina Guerrini) who also fancies the boy's affections.

Moreover, an unforeseen complication develops when Mike's mother and Sandra's father not only begin an affair, but turn up together in a car - little knowing that the kids are hiding in the back seat - and Sandra neglects to tell Mike that the lover in question is her father.
Luif co-scripted this film with Micha Lewinsky; it gains a historic footnote as one of the first mainstream Swiss features shot on high-definition video.

An ex-convict seeks revenge for his brother's death in this action-packed revenge thriller starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
Ten years ago, Driver (Johnson) was part of a bank heist gone horribly awry. In the chaos of the botched robbery, his brother wound up dead. Now Driver is a free man, and he's determined to punish the men who killed his brother.

But settling the score won't be easy, because despite being just a few days shy of retirement, a veteran cop (Billy Bob Thornton) isn't about to let a massacre take place on his watch, and a hotshot hitman (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) has Driver locked in his sights.

Unfortunately for Driver, the closer he gets to his targets, the more he puts himself at risk.
Later, just as Driver starts to think he's gotten everyone on his list, he discovers that one name seems to be missing.

Actresses For Batman 3

0 komentar
EXCLUSIVE: Chris Nolan is lining up actresses he'll meet for two female lead roles in The Dark Knight Rises, the third installment of the Batfranchise which Warner Bros has dated release on July 20, 2012. I'm told one of the roles is a love interest for Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne, and the other is a villain.

The actresses are: Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts, Blake Lively, Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway and Keira Knightley. Nolan is keeping the roles under wraps, just the way that he did when he drafted his Inception star Tom Hardy to come aboard to likely play a villain.
Deadline broke that story October 13. I'm still not sure what the role is and I believe Hardy took the job without knowing or reading a script that's still being tweaked.

This belated sequel to Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) is directed by Peter Hyams.
Roy Scheider plays the astronaut/skipper of a U.S.-Soviet space mission, sent to find out what happened to the missing Discovery flight that carried Keir Dullea into the beyond in the original 2001.

Scheider's polyglot crew includes Americans John Lithgow and Bob Balaban (the latter a computer whiz, responsible for the notorious HAL 9000) and Russians Helen Mirren, Elya Baskin and Natasha Schneider.
The reason for this international mixture is that the world is on the brink of nuclear war, and it is hoped that the space mission will assure east-west solidarity (in this respect, 2010 dates far more than 2001, given the collapse of the Iron Curtain).

When the astronauts catch up with Dullea, still in orbit around Jupiter, producer/director/writer Hyams attempts to demystify the enigmatic climax of 2001. Arthur C. Clarke, author of the story upon which 2001 was based, appears in 2010 as a man on a park bench. Incidentally, the voice-over credited to Olga Mallsnerd is actually Candice Bergen.
(The name Mallsnerd is a play on the name of one of the characters created by her ventriloquist father Edgar.) ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

A paraplegic ex-marine war veteran is unwillingly sent to establish a human settlement on the distant planet of Pandora, only to find himself battling humankind alongside the planet's indigenous Na'vi race in this ambitious, digital 3-D sci-fi epic from Academy Award-winning Titanic director James Cameron.

The film, which marks Cameron's first dramatic feature since 1997's Titanic, will be shot on the proprietary FUSION digital 3-D cameras developed by Cameron in collaboration with Vince Pace, and will offer a groundbreaking mix of live-action dramatic performances and computer-generated effects.

Australian actor Sam Worthington stars as the reluctant human settler Jake Sully, with actress Zoe Saldana signing on to portray the local woman who enters into a romantic affair with the hero.
The revolutionary motion-capture system created for the film allows the facial expressions of actors to be captured as a virtual camera system enables them to see what their computer-generated counterparts will be seeing in the film, and Peter Jackson's Oscar-winning Weta Digital visual effects house has been hired to supervise Avatar's complex visual effects. Wes Studi, Sigourney Weaver, CCH Pounder, and Michelle Rodriguez round out the cast.
